They tell you what?

Spread the love

They tell you what? They tell you its food,

But with every bite,

Empty hunger – filled by Cancerous growths,

They tell you it is life,

But the chains of work constrict,

Hope of death, a dream of sweet release,

They tell you it is love,

But eyes and hands wander,

The rose rots and decays and poisons the heart,

They tell you its freedom,

But bind you with condition, limits and restraints,

Delusions and acceptance, enslaved mentality the common state,

They tell you of beauty,

A standard so high,

That every image the perfect Photoshop lie!

So break free from the bond,

Seek knowledge and be free,

Be the voice that sings the songs of hope,

About Author. I have Borderline Personality Disorder and as a writer and poet I explore my madness through the creative arts. I have a personal belief that even in darkness light exists and it is a personal responsibility to always seek the light and I find the light in creating something.
