The mirror lies

Spread the love

mirrorI see me a face,

A body with arms and legs

Their scars and bumps,

Not perfect but human,

I see me a person,

Bruised and battered by life,

The reflection of what should be,

But the mirror lies to me,

I don’t see me,

A person carved by society,

Outcast and alone

Covered in tears and blood

I don’t know me

Twisted with mental instability

The thing I see is not me,

I reveal the things that I don’t see,

Unloved and alone,

Broken and betrayed,

In pain and isolated,

No marks to show the pain

The mirror lies

It shows you what you have to see,

Hidden in the mirror world

The things they will never see,

Am I just a reflection?

A mirage of the things that could be,

The mirror lies it will not display the pain inside,

I am but a surface and reflection of the world I hide.

The mirror lies,

I cut so deep,

Eternal sleep

My mortal form finally dies
