A Solstice Tale

Spread the love

A Solstice TaleAge ways heavy on the old warrior god,

Skies darken with deaths breath,

She who is round like Mabon moon labours,

Evergreen soldiers hold back winter icy grasp,

With sword of light to hold back the night,

The warrior battles but Thanatos knows no defeat,

As blood and water mix the circle paused to turn,

The darkness readies for victory,

The battle rages with no end in sight,

She responds to every blow,

Steal and silence clash with furies rage,

Blackness covers all with deaths cold breath

He knows that his love feels his every blow,

Could his surrender save her life,

Arms a sacrifice for love,

But Love slips free of deaths grasp,

She lays bleeding in pain so real,

Death stands close ready to snatch

His final breath grants her strength,

Now her legs spread wide a new life inside,

With loves light the warriors love takes flight

Pure golden light his son it bestows

A head now crowning in golden glow,

Death and darkness now in retreat,

Maiden mother pure and bright,

A child of pure radiance is born this night,

Son and heir a warrior god reborn

The sun now rises to take back the night,

Now the wheel must start to turn,

But day by day the sun return stronger and brighter than before,

This is not a story but it lore

Repeating yearly forever more

About Author. I have Borderline Personality Disorder and as a writer and poet I explore my madness through the creative arts. I have a personal belief that even in darkness light exists and it is a personal responsibility to always seek the light and I find the light in creating something.
